On 2/08/2024 at 10:00 am, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Crystal Green and Seung Lee conducted an announced Pre-Licensing inspection for a new license. Upon arrival, LPA met with Applicant Representative, Erica Cha. The Applicant, Pinocchio Child Care Center, Inc., has requested to be licensed for 40 preschoolers ages 2 to 6 years old. Hours of operation will be Monday to Friday from 8am to 6:30pm.

All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed Erica Cha that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. When medications are on site, Erica Cha stated that they will be stored in a cabinet located with Director’s office. A fully equipped first aid kit is located in within the classroom. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector on site located throughout the facility. All required licensing documents were observed posted next to the main entrance to the facility. Children will be signed in and out at the main entrance.

LPA continued to tour the facility and measured all indoor and outdoor activity space. This preschool program will have two classrooms: Classroom 1 and Classroom 2. Total indoor activity space measured 1822.96 square footage, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 40 children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water will be available in the classrooms via water dispenser with disposable cup. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 1/24/2024 by the LA City Fire Department.

LPA observed a total of 3 sinks and 3 toilets available for children’s use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 40 children. There is a separate staff restroom equipped with a toilet and a sink. The isolation area for children who are ill will be the staff restroom.
