32 | At this time, there is an area located in classroom 2 that are used as an isolation area. There are chairs and a mat/cot in the area. Parents are contacted immediately when children are determined to be ill and staff are ensuring that children with obvious symptoms of illness are not being accepted.
Heating, lighting, and ventilation were evaluated by LPA Perry. LPA observed central AC/heater. LPA observed the fire extinguishers located in classroom and the valve on the required 2A10BC fire extinguishers indicating fully charged and serviced on 3/25/2024. Smoke detectors were not tested during this visit due to the detectors being wired to the emergency pull down fire alarm system. Carbon monoxide detectors in classrooms and LPA Perry tested and are operable. The last emergency drill was conducted on 8/28/24. LPA observed napping equipment cots to be in good condition and stored in the classrooms. First aid kit supplies are kept inside the classrooms and LPA observed the kits to be fully equipped. During this visit, per Abigail Saucedo, stated that they currently have one child with medication and/or severe food allergies.
LPA Perry observed the restrooms to be in good condition with working toilets, sinks, hand soap dispenser and paper towels. LPA observed a diaper changing station in classrooms 1 and 2 and the vinyl mat is sanitized with Purell and sanitizer and let dry for 30 seconds. Restrooms are located inside each classroom.
LPA Perry entered the outdoor play area. The outdoor play yard were observed to be fully fenced. Outdoor play equipment was observed to be in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Licensing staff observed age-appropriate toys and equipment. The areas around and under high climbing equipment or slides have a rubber cushioning that absorb a fall. Outdoor activity space surface is maintained in a safe condition as is free of hazards. A sufficient shaded area was observed. The Abigail Saucedo states that there are no bodies of water on the premises and licensing staff did not observe any bodies of water during this inspection. Abigail states there are no weapons or firearms on the premises. For outdoor water drinking, staff bring out water jugs and disposable cups.
This program provides breakfast, lunch, and pm snack. Meals and snacks are provided by an outside vendor called Chefiables who deliver the meals daily. LPA Perry informed Abigail Saucedo that any food brought from the children's homes, the container shall be labeled with the child's name and properly stored or refrigerated. For water drinking, LPA Perry observed water jugs and disposable cups in the classrooms as well as drinking fountains that are filtered. LPA observed the food preparation area to be clean and free of litter, rubbish, rodents, and/or any other vermin and storage containers for solid waste, including movable bins with tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. The facility was observed to be free of flies, other insects, and rodents.
