LPA's observed a total of 4 sinks and 4 toilets available for children’s use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 50 children. There is a separate staff restroom equipped with a toilet and a sink. The isolation area for children who are ill will be the staff restroom located in the main building.
Facility will not provide AM/PM snacks or lunch. Parents will provide their child snack and lunch. Per applicant representative, facility will have snacks in case of an emergency.
The facility currently has a designated fully fenced playground area for the preschool children. Fencing is made of wrought iron which was observed to be at least four feet high. LPAs observed that the path to enter their designated outdoor play area will be accessible to older children. Per the applicant representative, Rosemarie Muscarella, staff will escort children at all times to and from their designated outdoor play area. Applicant Representative, Rosemarie Muscarella, understands that children will be escorted and supervised to and from their designated play area at all times. LPA's obtained measurements of the designated area which calculated to be 3,360.23 square footage which can only accommodate 44 children at one time. Shade is provided via canopy. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the main playground area. Drinking water is available via water igloo. LPA's observed all hazardous items on the playground to be inaccessible to children. Applicant Representative, Rosemarie Muscarella, was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing.
For childcare center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP).
Applicant representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
