32 | Adjacent to the living room, is Bedroom #1 with 1 crib used for sleeping infants, per local fire department’s recommendation. Bedrooms #2 and #3 are kept closed during daycare hours and have child protective knobs. Licensee also has a crib in the living room and a play pen in storage that is readily available for infant day care children to use. Older children nap on cots in the living room.
The bathroom is accessible to children in care and is in safe and sanitary conditions. There is also a first aid kit readily available.
LPA toured the front play yard that will is used for outdoor play. There is shade and age-appropriate play equipment for children in care, such as an infant slide, dramatic play house, blocks, and sensory toys. LPA did not observe any objects that could be hazardous to children in care. Licensee understands that children should be supervised at all times while outdoors.
There is telephone service via a cell phone that remains in the facility during hours of operation. There is ventilation and heating. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which could pose a danger to children were observed to be inaccessible to children.
Per licensee, there are no firearms or weapons stored in the home or any bodies of water, and none were observed on this day.
LPA reviewed Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification, expires 3/2026 and current Mandated Reporter Training Certificate. Licensee's mandated reporter training expires 3/2026.
LPA informed licensee that upon hiring an assistant, the following is required prior to the assistant being present in the home: fingerprint clearance, Proof of immunizations against measles, pertussis and influenza or influenza declination, TB clearance or risk assessment, LIC 9108- Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse and current a Mandated Reporter Training Certificate. Licensee has hired an assistant and has records on file.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
