25 | On 1/26/2024 at 10:00 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Crystal Green conducted an announced Pre-Licensing inspection for a new license. Upon arrival, LPA met with Applicant Representative Raquel Jamerson, Carolyn James, and LaShon Tillie Jones. Applicant, City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, has requested to be licensed for 50 preschoolers ages 2 to 5 years old. Hours of operation will be Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm.
All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed Raquel Jamerson that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. When medications are on site, Raquel Jamerson stated that they will be stored in Directors Office. A fully equipped first aid kit is located in within each classroom. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector on site located throughout the facility. All required licensing documents were observed posted in the main hallway near the main entrance to the facility. Children will be signed in and out at the main entrance.
LPA continued to tour the facility and measured all indoor and outdoor activity space. This preschool program will have a total of 2 classrooms: classroom 1 and classroom 2. Total indoor activity space measured 2240.53 square footage, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 50 Children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water will be available to children via filtered water fountain located in the main hallway and water dispenser attached to each sink located within the classroom. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 10/18/2023 by the LA City Fire Department. |
