25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Veronica Martinez Garza conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection at the above facility on 04/16/25 at 02:00 p.m. LPA met with Jose Romero licensee who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. There were 06 children present during this inspection. Also present was the licensee’s assistant. Per licensee, 15 children are enrolled. Operation hours are Monday – Friday 06:30a.m. – 05:30 p.m.
This is a one-story home which consists of 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, living room, dining room, kitchen, office, front porch, front yard and main entrance walkway/driveway. Areas accessible to children include front yard, front porch, living room, dining room, and bathroom. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include 2 bedrooms, kitchen, and office. According to the licensee, there are no pets on the premises. Family members residing in the home are 1 adult and 0 minors. All individuals present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing, or volunteering in a licensed home and are identified on the attached LIC811.
LPA toured all areas identified on the facility sketch used by children during this visit and were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. Tour began in living room where LPA observed age-appropriate toys, materials, and equipment. Adjacent to the living room is the front room/office which is off-limits to children and the dining room. LPA observed a well mounted child proof gate between the living room and dining room. LPA observed a dining table, chairs, (1) play pen with an attached bassinet, stored mats, a changing table, and child sized table and chairs.LPA advised the licensee to not use the bassinet. Licensee immediately removed the bassinet. The dining room connects to the kitchen. Per licensee, the kitchen is off-limits. There is a door that remains closed to prevent children from accessing the kitchen. LPA also observed child proof locks on the kitchen cabinets. Children walk through the kitchen to access the bathroom. LPA toured the children’s bathroom and observed it to be safe and in sanitary conditions. There’s also a first aid kit readily available.
