25 | On 2/08/2024 at 1:30 pm, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA), Crystal Green conducted an announced Pre-Licensing inspection for a new license. Upon arrival, LPA met with Applicant Representative, Karine Sahakyan. The Applicant, Smiley Angels Child Care Center Inc., has requested to be licensed for 40 preschoolers ages 2 to 6 years old. Hours of operation will be Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm.
All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA observed the facility to have 2 floors. The main office is located on the second floor accessible via the red classroom. LPA informed Karine Sahakyan that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. When medications are on site, Karine Sahakyan stated that they will be stored in a locked cabinet located within the Kitchen area. A fully equipped first aid kit is located in within the Kitchen. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector on site located throughout the facility. All required licensing documents were observed posted next to the main entrance to the facility. Children will be signed in and out outside at the main entrance.
LPA continued to tour the facility and measured all indoor and outdoor activity space. This preschool program will have three classrooms (yellow classroom 1, red classroom 2, and green classroom 3) located on the first floor and Learning Enrichment Room located on the second floor. LPA advised the applicant representative, Karine Sahakyan to maintain child safety knob on the door handle that leads to the second floor and the child safety gate at the top of the stairs. Total indoor activity space measured 1081.07 square footage, which can only accommodate 37 children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping mats, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water will be available in the classrooms via water dispenser with disposable cup. |
