32 | LPA observed 10 children, one being 18 months old, napping in the daycare area with licensee and her two assistants. There is a fireplace in the living room which has been blocked off to prevent access to children. LPA observed children tables, chairs and toys in the living room. There is a door in the living room which leads to the backyard. There is a door in the living room which leads to the kitchen. Per licensee, she keeps the kitchen door closed all the time during daycare operation hours. Next LPA toured the off-limit two bedrooms adjacent to the living room and did not observe any hazards. Next LPA toured the daycare bathroom in the hallway and did not observe any hazards. Next LPA toured the kitchen and dining room and observed sofas and a coffee table in the dining room. Next LPA toured the two off-limit bedrooms and one off-limit bathroom adjacent to the dining room and did not observe any hazards. Per licensee, there are no poisons in the home. LPA observed the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher was anchored to the wall in the living room (main daycare area). It was serviced on 07/1/2024 as read by LPA from the service tag. Licensee tested the carbon monoxide and smoke detector in the living room. It sounded off the alarms and heard by LPA to be functional. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which could pose a danger to children were observed to be inaccessible to children.
Next LPA toured the backyard fenced. Per licensee, children use the designated daycare outdoor playarea in the backyard (fenced) for outdoor play time which is separated by three feet high vinyl fences from rest of the off-limit areas in the backyard. The outdoor play area was observed to be fenced. LPA observed that the outdoor yard has toys, swings and other materials for children to play with. LPA did not observe any objects that can pose a danger to children on the outdoor yard. Outdoor play area ground is artificial grass. The licensee states that supervision is always provided. There is a gate in the backyard which leads to the driveway. Per licensee, she keeps the backyard gate closed all the time. There is a big trampoline, 15 feet high, in the off-limit area in the backyard for licensee’s biological children use. A written declaration will be submitted to LPA by 05/16/25 that daycare children do not have access to trampoline. Also, LPA asked licensee to add a fence around the trampoline to make it inaccessible to the daycare children and send a picture to LPA by 05/16/25.
Per licensee, she provides food for children in care. Licensee was advised that if food is brought from the children’s homes, all containers must be labeled with child’s name and properly stored or refrigerated. Per Licensee, there are no pets, weapons, firearms, pools, spas, hot tubs, fish ponds, or similar bodies of water on the premises.
The licensee and other personnel have completed training on preventive health practices including Pediatric First Aid and CPR. The licensee's Pediatric First Aid and CPR expires on 09/2025. Licensee, Sona Haykyan required mandated reporter training expired 08/10/24 and it was not updated every 2 years as it is required. There are first aid supplies available on the premises in the daycare room. LPA advised licensee that if a child shows signs of illness he/she/they shall be separated from other children.
