32 | There is an operational carbon monoxide detector on site located in the Kitchen prep area. All required licensing documents were observed posted near the entrance to the facility. Sign in and out takes place in the classrooms as well as parents checking in on the application called My Bright Day.
LPA continued to tour the facility and measured the indoor and outdoor activity space. Total infant indoor activity space measured 1,784 square footages, which is sufficient to accommodate the existing infant capacity of 48 children. Total preschool indoor activity space measured 1908.39 square footages, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested preschool capacity of 76 preschool children. Total school-age indoor activity space measured 876.25 square footages, which can only accommodate 25 school-age children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping mats, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via filter water dispenser. LPAs observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Per Facility Representative, there were no changes to the indoor or outdoor designated infant areas. The infant napping room area was observed to half wall with clear pexi glass window with 8 cribs for non-mobile infants.
This facility has a total of 8 sinks and 4 toilets designated for the infants. The preschoolers have a total of 9 toilets and 12 sinks available for preschool children’s use. The proposed school- age program will have access to restroom located next to the main office area. The restroom contains 1 toilet and 1 sink, which can only accommodate 15 school-age children. There is a separate staff restroom equipped with a toilet and a sink. The isolation area for children who are ill will be the staff restroom.
Facility will provide AM/ PM snacks. Parents will provide their child’s lunch or they will have the option of purchasing a hot lunch via Hero Eats app. The kitchen area is located next to the main office area which currently includes refrigerator, sink, microwave, and food prep counter. The kitchen area and food storage areas were observed free of rodents and/or vermin. Food was observed to be properly stored separate from cleaning materials. Hazardous items in the kitchen are inaccessible to children via locked cabinet.
