25 | On 09/04/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kruz Long conducted an announced Prelicensing Inspection. A COVID-19 risk assessment was conducted prior to entering the facility. LPA met with applicant Cathy Nguyen who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. Application is for a large family child care home. This is a single story home with a living room, kitchen, dining area, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and an attached garage. Fire clearance was granted on 08/22/2024.
Main care is provided in the living room, kitchen, dining area, master bedroom and bathroom, rear yard.
Off limit areas are the 3 bedrooms, hallway bathroom and garage.
The home is kept clean and orderly with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Per Applicant, there are no pets, no weapons or firearms on the premises. The home provides safe toys, play equipment and materials. Age appropriate napping equipment (cots) was observed in the master bedroom. Poisons, detergents and cleaning compounds are stored inaccessible to children. Barricades between care areas and off limit areas were observed.
The required fire extinguisher (2A10BC) is fully charged and in operable condition. The home has operating Smoke/Carbon Monoxide detectors. Fireplace in the living room is securely screened. CPR/First Aid expire 08/17/25. The First Aid kit was observed and is complete. Facility will provide breakfast, snacks and lunch. Parent/Children will enter and exit through the front door.
LPA observed the following issue which needs to be corrected:
AC unit in the rear yard shall be barricaded to prevent accessibility by children.
