32 | Per licensee, the kitchen, balcony, front yard, and driveway are off-limits to children. LPA and OA observed the door was locked and a safety latch was also observed. There’s also a first aid kit readily available.
At 09:00 am smoke and carbon monoxide detector was observed to be operable. The valve on the required 2A10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully and was serviced on 10/20/25, per the attached service tag. Per State Fire Marshall standards, fire extinguishers shall be serviced annually.
LPA observed the following required posted documentation in the living room. Facility License, Publication (PUB) 394- Notification of Parent Rights and Licensing Form (LIC) 9148- Earthquake Preparedness form, LIC 610- Emergency Disaster Plan and PUB 269 California Child Passenger Safety Law. All homes shall conduct fire and disaster drills at least once every six months and document the date and time of each drill. Last drill conducted was on 11/10/25. Children’s roster was available for review; however, it was incomplete. LPA provided a technical assistance.
Per licensee, food is provided to children. Licensee was advised that if food is brought from the children’s homes, all containers must be labeled with the child’s name and properly stored or refrigerated. The facility has a working telephone.
Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which could pose a danger to children were observed to be inaccessible to children. The licensee states that there are no poisons in the home and understands that storage areas for poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock. According to the licensee, there are no firearms, weapons or bodies of water in the home.
Children use the back yard for outdoor play. LPA and OA observed that the back yard has adequate shade and equipment for children. Cushioning material around the play structure was observed. LPA and OA did not observe any objects that could be hazardous to children in care. LPA and OA advised the licensee to check with the American Standard Testing Materials for Playground Guidelines and/or to use the manufactures recommendations for the playground equipment in efforts to be more in line with safety guidelines. Licensee understands that children should be supervised at all times.
Children and staff records were reviewed. Children and staff names were documented on the LIC 811, and a copy was provided to the licensee during the inspection. LPA observed 4 out of 5 children were missing LIC 627. LPA provided a technical violation.
