25 | On 09/29/21, at 10: 25am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Susan Campos conducted an unannounced annual required visit with a primary focus on Infection Control measures using the new CARE Inspection Tool. LPA was allowed entry into the facility by Maggie Ornelas, Administrator. LPA met with Ms. Ornelas and explained the purpose of the visit. The facility is licensed to operate for seventy ( 70) non-ambulatory with (4) hospice residents ages 60 years and above.
The facility consists of 1 floor level: which consists of 35 resident rooms with individual bathrooms, 1 public restroom, living room/activity room, kitchen, dining room, and outdoor area. The facility is a single-story structure located in a residential neighborhood. LPA toured the physical plant and inspected four resident rooms (#102, #131, #154, and #159). There were no bodies of water or obstructions on the premises. Beds and bedding supplies were in good condition, adequate lighting provided, storage for client personal belongings was observed. Bed linens, comforters, and bath towels were adequately stocked at the time of visit. Bathrooms were found to be within Title 22 regulations and were clean and operational. The water temperature measured for the follow resident rooms ( #102 – 112.2F, #131 – 110.6F, #154 – 110.3 F, and #159 – 110.6 F). A comfortable temperature of 73 degrees was maintained in the facility.
LPA observed the facility to be sanitary and appropriately furnished at the time of visit. Storage areas for personal hygiene, cleaning supplies, toxins, and sharps objects were stored and not accessible to clients. The kitchen was inspected and there is sufficient perishable and non-perishable food available maintained properly. A fire extinguisher was charged, smoke detectors and carbon monoxide were operable. Fire Drills were observed to be maintained in order and accurate.
