25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) R. Derraco conducted an unannounced case management visit to the above mentioned address on 05/19/23. LPA arrived at the facility at 11:15 AM and was met by licensee Tamieka Lackey who guided analyst on a tour of the home. LPA observed 5 children in care upon arrival. There were no additional adults present.
The purpose of this visit is to observe the corrections previously mentioned in the case management visit dated 04/05/23. An updated facility sketch was received via email and added to the application packet. LPA observed that the portable AC unit is no longer accessible in bedroom 2. Licensee states that the portable AC unit was removed completely from the room. LPA advised that if a heating or air conditioning appliance is used, it must be made inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed that cleaning products were removed from beneath the sink. LPA observed cleaning products to be kept in a cabinet located above the refrigerator. LPA observed the backyard play area to have perimeter fencing. LPA confirmed with licensee that plan for clean up prior to children accessing the backyard play area includes cleaning up after pet dogs while children are napping. Video cameras were observed throughout the home. Cameras are linked to licensee's cell phone. Wooden planks were observed to have been removed from the back yard play area. Metal studs were also removed from the foundation of the storage shed located in the back yard play area. Barbeque pit and charcoal was not observed to be stored in the backyard play area during visit. Fold away chairs were not observed in the backyard play area as well as the loose objects such as storage containers and bricks.
Licensee is requesting a large family child care. Fire clearance was approved on 01/19/23. A large family childcare license may be granted upon Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Approval. Once licensed, the Licensee is required to comply with the terms and limitations stated on the license. Following this inspection, LPA observed the home to be in compliance with Title 22 regulations. Notice of site visit was given and must be posted for 30 days.
