32 | Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other items that are dangerous to children, were inaccessible to children. Menus are posted outside each classroom one week in advance. All kitchen, food preparation, and storage areas are clean, free of litter, rubbish, and rodents/vermin. All food is protected from contamination. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins, have tight fitting covers on and are in good repair.
Outdoor playground equipment is in a safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. There is adequate shade in the play yard. LPAs advised that no children shall be left without the supervision of a teacher at any time. All floors were observed to be clean and safe. All materials accessible to children were observed to be toxic free. There are no firearms stored on the premises. There are no pools or bodies of water at the facility.
Per director, no children enrolled in facility at time of inspection. Thus, no children’s records reviewed.
Per staff record review, LPAs observed that staff’s file is maintained and updated: Education, LIC-501: Personnel Record, LIC 508- Criminal Record Statement, LIC 9052- Employee Rights, LIC 503- Health Screening, Proof of immunization against measles, pertussis and influenza or influenza declination, TB clearance or risk assessment, LIC 9108- Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse. LPAs observed one staff file missing updated mandated reporter certificate. A technical assistance violation issued.
At least one person trained in CPR and Pediatric First Aid is present when children are at the facility or at offsite activities. LPAs observed one staff with CPR and Pediatric First Aid without EMSA approved sticker. Program Director to verify CPR card is EMSA approved. Per director, no lead and nutrition component completed by director at time of inspection. A technical assistance violation issued.
The name of the child care center director or fully-qualified teacher(s) designated to act in the director’s absence has been reported to the Department. The person who signs the child in/out of the facility shall use their full legal signature and record the time of day. |
