25 | On October 3, 2023 at Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Angelica Wallin and Warren Birks conducted an unannounced case management inspection regarding backyard outdoor fence remodel. LPAs were met by Licensee, Mayra Lagunas, who provided assistance with tour of outdoor backyard space and a census of 7 children was taken.
LPAs observed fence to be sound and structurally stable. Licensee informed LPAs regarding desire to move front yard play area to the backyard. LPAs inspected backyard space for safety risks. LPAs observed the following items to be addressed in backyard: removal of ladder located on side wall of the facility, removal of lumber, concrete mix, tools and debris located by backdoor entrance of the facility, shed to be used for storing outdoor play equipment to be locked and inaccessible to children, removal of aloe vera plant with spikes located on turf along the side of the house, outdoor crawl space located on side of the house near staircase entrance to be made inaccessible, vegetable garden container to be free of debris and covered if not in use, water station located next to vegetable garden contained advised to be removed if not in use, open vent located near aloe vera plant to be covered and inaccessible to children in care and grill located by backyard stair entrance to be fully covered and or relocated for further inaccessibility. LPAs observed dog feces on turf near shed area. Licensee stated dog will be secured in driveway area away from backyard play area. LPAs advised licensee to conduct walkthrough on backyard space before opening hours to remove any dog feces on premises, dog uses backyard space. LPAs advised licensee for overall cleanliness of backyard space to ensure health and safety of children in care.
