During the same visit, LPAs observed several broken toys on grassy area in the preschool playground. Per the Director, preschool children had not been allowed to play in the grassy area due to the condition of the toys. Other staff interviews did not corroborate the Director’s statement. Per other staff interviews, children had used the grassy area the previous day.
LPAs conducted subsequent visits on 4/9/24 and 5/20/24 and observed the outdoor play area to be free of broken toys. LPAs did not observe broken toys during today’s visit on 6/18/24.
LPAs observed children’s water cups during the visit on 3/26/24. Based on interviews conducted, the water cups were not cleaned daily. One interview revealed that one child’s cup had dry milk and it was difficult to scrub out. The facility has since switched over to providing disposable cups for children to use.
Although the facility has since corrected the issues with the allegations, the preponderance of evidence has been met, therefore the allegations are substantiated. California Code of Regulations, (Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1), are being cited on the attached LIC 9099D.
The notice of site visit was provided and must be posted for 30 days.
Exit interview conducted and a copy of the report and appeal rights were provided to the Licensee, Dr. Linda Johnson. |
