32 | Per licensee, outdoor play conducted in the back yard. LPA observed backyard is gated, fully enclosed and contains no hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. LPA observed detached garage used child care area and observed no hazards to children in care. LPA advised licensee that no sleeping can be conducted in the detached garage and total supervision to be maintained at all times during outdoor play. LPA observed there no swimming pool or bodies of water. Per licensee, food service and transportation is provided. Per licensee, overnight care is not provided at this time. LPA discussed with licensee supervision and safety when providing transportation services.
During inspection, two children’s records were reviewed. During children’s record review, LPA observed one child’s file missing MMR immunization. A technical violation citation issued. A review of staff records indicates that licensee and one staff have the following updated certificates: updated CPR/1st aid certificate with expiration date of 1/2025 and updated immunization records on file for measles, pertussis, influenza and TB clearance. Per record review, LPA observed mandated reporter certificate with expiration date of 2/2023 for licensee and no mandated reporter certificate for one staff. A type B citation issued. LPA reviewed the following documentation to be kept in facility: facility license, LIC610A, facility fire drill logs, PUB 394, and LIC9040.
Licensee Quintanilla was advised that regulation prohibits the smoking of tobacco in a private residence licensed as a family childcare home during the hours of operation. LPA reviewed with Licensee Quintanilla items prohibited in FCCH, no baby bouncers, no infant walkers, No Johnny jumpers, no saucer chairs, and any other item that falls into that category are not permitted in the facility.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
