Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Alicia Mooberry conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection on this. LPA met with Tykisha Lawrence, Licensee, who is requesting to increase capacity to a Large Family Child Care Home of 12-14 children. A fire clearance was granted on 09/08/23. LPA observed that the licensee has installed a pull bar alarm on wall in the garage/playroom. Exit signs at the front door and exiting the playroom. In addition the facility has house alarm that sound alert when doors open.
There were zero (0) children present during inspection. Also present was Dalton Nichols. All adult present have received the required background clearance for a family daycare home.
LPA discussed capacity requirements for a Large Family Child care home. When there isn't a qualified assistant the provider must follow the Small Family Child Care Home regulations (Maximum 8 children).
LPA discussed reporting requirements and reminded licensee to report and changes to the day to day operation within 24 hours.
Per licensee T. Lawrence the children will sleep or eat in the bedroom by the garage/playroom and never in the garage.
Based on the LPA's observations no deficiencies are cited on this date.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensees.
