25 | 8/29/24, at 9:20AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) T. Tran and A. Carter arrived at the above licensed facility to conduct an annual random/capacity increase visit. The Fire clearance was granted. Upon arrival, LPAs met with licensee Alma Arceo and her employee. LPAs announced the purpose of today’s visit. Per licensee there are 6 children enrolled. During today's visit, LPAs did not observe any children in care. About 9:40AM, we toured the accessible areas of the home. All adults have fingerprinted cleared and associated to the licensed facility. The current hours of operation are 7:00AM-7:00PM; Monday through Friday.
LPAs observed all posting requirements for operation on the posting board LIC 203A-License, LIC-9213-Notice of site visit, LIC 610 A-Emergency Disaster Plan, LIC 9148-Earthquake Preparedness Check List, PUB 394-Notification of parent’s rights poster, PUB 269- Child Car Seat Law, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, Shaken Baby Syndrome Poster, and safe sleep poster.
This is a two story dwelling home consisting of 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a dining room connect to the kitchen, a family, and a detached garage. Childcare is conducted in the family room. Children do have access to a bathroom in the hallway. LPAs observed the kitchen has safety latched on the cabinets and no sharp objects or chemical compounds accessible to children in care. Children do not have access to the entire upstairs and the 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms downstairs. The licensee acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limit areas. The enclosed backyard is observed to be clean for children. LPAs observed an oversized storage container cargo with proper lock located in the backyard. The licensee is reminded that smoking is prohibited on the premises. LPAs informed the effects of lead exposure for children between ages 1-6 years old are the most at risk for lead poisoning. A copy of lead exposure was provided.
LPAs observed all posting requirements accessible to all parents. Licensee had current CPR/First Aid certificates (Exp. 10/2024), fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide and smoke detector meet regulations. Cleaning materials and medications are inaccessible, Licensee stated there are no firearms in the home. The home conducted emergency disaster drill on a monthly basis.
