25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Randy Derraco conducted an announced pre-licensing inspection to the above mentioned address on 11/30/21 at 8:45 AM. LPA met with applicants, Iris Amaya Castro and Ana Castro Pineda, who guided LPA on a tour of the home. LPA observed two adults present during inspection. Individuals residing in the home have been noted and discussed. The applicant is requesting a small family childcare home license. Per applicant, operation hours will be Monday through Sunday 5 AM to 4 AM. Applicant states that they will care for children 0 to 13 years old.
All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected, including but not limited to, off limit areas. This is a single story home that consists of 2 bedrooms, one bathrooms, living room, kitchen/ dining area, front yard, back yard (fenced), detached garage, and storage shed.
Main care areas includes the living room and the backyard area. LPA observed the main care area to have age appropriate toys, materials, child sized desk, chairs, required postings, a storage cubby for personal belongings of the children in care, and a wall mounted television. LPA observed a wooden Kaplan baby crib in the main care area. LPA advised applicant that baby cribs need to have a fitted sheet on the crib mattress. A 2A 10BC fire extinguisher was observed in the main care area to be fully charge with a service tag of 10/07/21. A Johnson and Johnson first aid kit was observed in the main care area along with a touch-less thermometer. A red brick fireplace was observed in the main care area to have a sealed wooden cover making it inaccessible. A cabinet built into the fireplace wall was observed to be locked and contain additional first aid and cleaning supplies. Two painted wooden gates were observed in the entrance of the off limits kitchen/dining area and hallway. A full sized couch and a children's area rug were also observed in the main care area. The restroom children will be using was observed to be clean and free of defects. LPA observed child proof locks for the cabinet beneath the sink, a medicine cabinet, working toilet and a bathtub. Per applicant, one bedroom has been designated for use to separate children showing signs of illness.
