Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Denise Gibbs conducted an unannounced case management inspection to the above facility on 4/7/23 on 2:45PM. LPA met with Martha Munoz Gonzalez, Licensee. LPA toured the facility. The purpose of this inspection is due to licensee’s request for a capacity increase.

There were two children who reside in the home present when LPA arrived. Facility is closed for the holiday and will reopen on Monday 4/10/23. Facility is currently licensed for a small family child care (eight children) and licensee would like to increase capacity to a large family child care (14 children), 0-12 years old.
Hours of operation will remain the same, Mon-Fri 8:00 AM - 6:00PM.

This is a one-story home that consists of three bedrooms, two bathrooms, open layout living room/dining room/kitchen area, front yard and back yard fenced. Main care areas include two bedrooms, one bathroom front yard and back yard. Areas off limits to children and parents include, open layout living room/dining room/kitchen area (child safety gate) and one bathroom located in primary bedroom.

All required posted documentation was observed in the main care area, available to parents. Fire extinguisher was last serviced on 1/2023. smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and are operable.

Facility has two room that are used for children. Main care rooms were observed to have age appropriate toys and material for children to play with. Detergents and cleaning compounds are stored in the off limits kitchen with child locks on the cabinets. Facility has central air and heat for ventilation. Per Licensee there are no firearms or weapons stored in the home. Parents sign children in and out daily and facility follows a daily schedule.

The bathroom that children use is located through the main care bedroom. Cleaning supplies are stored in a locked cabinet under the sink. Bathroom was observed to be safe and sanitary.----------------PAGE 1

Infants have required sleeping equipment and bedding. LPA observed three play yards that are free of hazards. Licensee is aware of Safe Sleep regulation and is implementing procedures. Older children have matts to sleep on. Parents bring bedding and it is sent home to be wash weekly.

Currently, children are using the backyard for outdoor play. The outdoor play area was observed to be fenced. LPA observed that the outdoor yard has toys and other materials for children to play with. LPA did not observe any objects that could be hazardous to children in care. There are no pools or spas, or other bodies of water. Facility has two small dogs that remain in the off limits area during day care hours..

Licensee currently has one assistant to assist with capacity increase. All documentation to qualify assistant has been submitted and reviewed. Licensee has completed required Pediatric First Aid and CPR and Mandated Reporter Training, expiring 8/2023. There are first aid supplies available. Children's files were reviewed and are complete.

No deficiencies will be cited today 4/7/23.

Licensee is seeking to provide care for 14 children 0-12 years old. A fire clearance has been granted as of 3/31/23. Based on today’s observation, capacity increase will be granted.

The Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) – must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site visit by a licensing representative.

Exit interview was conducted with Martha Munoz Gonzalez, Licensee. Appeal Rights provided.
