25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Randy Derraco conducted an announced pre-licensing inspection to the above mentioned address on 06/21/22 at 12:40 PM. LPA met with applicant, Maria Alba, who guided LPA on a tour of the home. Per applicant, children present live in the home were verified via LIC 279B. Individuals residing in the home have been noted and discussed. The applicant is requesting a large capacity family childcare home license. Per applicant, operation hours will be Monday thru Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Applicant states that they will care for children aged 2 months to 10 years old.
All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected, including but not limited to, off limit areas. This is a one story additional dwelling unit that consists of one bedrooms, one bathrooms, living room / kitchen / laundry area, front yard and backyard (fenced).
Main care areas include living room/kitchen/laundry area, bedroom, bathroom, front play area and back yard play area. Parents will enter the facility through side gate located on the driveway. .
Off limit areas include address 5835 Gardenia Ave. LPA observed that both 5835 and 5835A share a wall however there is no access to the home through 5835A Gardenia Ave. A doorway was observed in the front yard play area and licensee states that the doorway is never opened. Per licensee, she plans to rent out the home located on 5835 Gardenia Ave.
Outdoor play area is located in the back yard. LPA observed that the yard is fenced and free of hazards. Outdoor play equipment was observed in the outdoor play area. Licensee states she plans to use a portable pop up tent to provide shade for the outdoor play area.
Areas that will be used by children were inspected for safety, comfort, cleanliness. LPA observed locks on the kitchen cabinets. Per applicant, cleaning supplies and sharp objects such as knives are kept locked above
