Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ashley Calderon conducted an unannounced random annual inspection and met with Assistant Staff Guadalupe Fernandez. This visit was conducted in Spanish. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by Assistant Staff.

Upon arrival LPA observed 10 children and 2 staff. LPA confirmed staff names and reviewed Personnel Summary List for the above facility. LPA Calderon did a tour of the inside of the facility premises with Staff Fernandez. This home consists of 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, main kitchen, additional kitchen in the back living room, dining room, front living room, detached garage with a room (room used for storage), front yard (fenced) , side yard (fenced) and backyard (fenced). The home was inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness.

Areas used by children include: 3 bedrooms (day care rooms), 2 1/2 bathrooms, front living room, dining room, detached garage and side and backyard (fenced).

Areas off limits include: 1 bedroom, and front yard.

Tour of the backyard was done with Licensee Guerrero, LPA noticed (2) inflatable children pools not in use and contained no water. Per Licensee, uses pools for water play, pools are never fully filled up and empties pools after each water play. LPA advised Licensee to ensure water is never left in pools when not in use. LPA observed garage used for children. LPA advised Licensee children are unable to eat or nap in the garage . LPA observed age appropriate materials and toys inside and outside of the home premises.

Licensee showed LPA located of sharps, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. LPA observed hazardous items are kept in both kitchen area in high cabinets or cabinets locked with baby locks/ latches.

LPA Calderon called LPA Sanchez for assistance to search Guardian regarding Staff #2. It was confirmed that Staff #2 is fingerprinted clear and all individuals present in the home are cleared. Per Licensee submitted LIC9182 Criminal Background Clearance Transfer via email to LPA Warren. LPA notified Licensee LPA Warren is no longer with the department. LPA advised to send all records to Licensing via mail that requires to be processed by Licensing. LPA collected LIC9182 form from Licensee. At 10:45 LPA Sanchez and LPA Calderon associated staff.

Bathrooms and all rooms accessible to children were found clean and safe for children in care. Facility has a telephone (mobile) service, LPA observed in the front living room a fireplace that was barricaded and secured off for inaccessibility. Per Licensee, no pets or firearms/guns in this home. Per Licensee, provides overnight care if needed and provides children with food. LPA advised Licensee to ensure if children bring food from home to ensure it is properly labeled with child's name, in a sealed container and properly stored. LPA observed camera's inside the home in all areas used by children in care.



Licensee tested the smoke and carbon monoxide device and LPA observed devices were found operable. Fire extinguisher was found serviced and charged. Service date: 8/16/23. LPA observed AC/ ceiling fans for ventilation and observed a wall heater secured off for children's safety.

LPA reviewed records, Disaster and Fire Drills was conducted on 6/19/24, Facility Roster was provided and present at the facility upon request. LPA observed required posting located outside visible for parents and licensing to observe and review. LPA conducted a total of (3) staff files (including Licensee) and (4) children (including 1 infant). Licensee Mandated Reporter expires: 5/31/26 / Pediatric First Aid/CPR expires: 5/2026, all staff had current mandated reporter training, CPR/ First Aid and appropriate documentation's in file. Children all had required documentation in place.

Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

During the exit interview, the Licensee, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. Based on today’s visit, Per California Code of Regulations Title 22 the facility was found in compliance, and no citations were given on today's visit.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
