32 | This is a single dwelling home consists of 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, living room, and a detached garage with an attached ADU. Childcare is mainly conducted in the living room/a converted bedroom into an activities room. Children have access to the kitchen area. Kitchen was inspected for safety, cabinets with sharp objects and chemical compounds were properly stored away & latched making it inaccessible to children in care. Children do not have access to the three bedrooms inside the home and an ADU. The licensee acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limit areas. Isolation area is near the main entrance, the children sit on a chair with small dining table.
Licensee currently cares for infants, LPAs observed cribs and playpens with its proper mattress with no hanging objects. There is a window A/C in the main care area and windows for ventilation. LPAs observed gated fire place, per licensee the fire place has not worked since before the daycare was open. There are no children with allergies enrolled. Per Licensee she is not currently administering medication to any child, but will if needed.
The fully enclosed backyard is observed to be clean with good shade readily for children to play. LPAs observed 3 playhouses, 3 slides, variety of balls, play kitchen and dramatic play accessories. Arts and crafts stations were observed. LPAs did not observe any bodies of water. Per Licensee there are no weapons in the home. LPA observed backyard have a 4ft X 3ft freezer chest with ice. Per licensee, that freezer chest is always locked and for personal use. Daycare do not have access to the freezer chest and it shall remain closed during the daycare operation hours. LPAs observed 1 large & 1 small dog kept separately in the backyard no access to the children. The licensee is reminded that smoking is prohibited during the operation hours.
Licensee Veronica Garcia was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated
