25 | On 07/17/2024 at 9:30 am, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Elka Chavez, Susann Sanchez and Joshua Ortega conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection for an increase in capacity. Upon arrival, LPAs met with Director, Allison Christenson. This facility is currently licensed as a preschool program with a toddler component. The capacity for children ages 3 to entry into first grade is 74 and toddler children ages 18 to 36 months is 16 for a total capacity of 90 children. The Licensee, Little Angel’s Preschool and Kindergarten has requested to increase the preschool capacity by 30 additional preschool children for a total new capacity of 120.
The facility is located in the premises of the Christian Life Church. Per Director, Christenson, parents are provided with a code to gain access to the gated parking lot. Hours of operation will be Monday to Friday from 6:30 am to 6:00pm. There were 65 children present with 9 staff during today’s inspection. Appropriate ratios and supervision were observed.
All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPAs informed Director, Allison Christenson that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. LPAs observed the facility consists of two classrooms. LPAs observed the first classroom facing Pacific Avenue to be an open concept room with 4 ft wall panels all around separating each classroom. LPAs observed structural changes had been made to the open concept classroom. LPAs observed the classroom wall panels were rearranged and the classrooms were moved to the center of the room. LPAs observed board panels were added on top of the approved 4 ft wall panels in the Jupiter and Mars classroom. LPAs observed preschool children wearing diapers in classrooms Mars and Jupiter. LPAs did not observe changing tables or padding in the classrooms. LPAs observed children being changed standing up. LPAs did not observe a sink. LPAs confirmed that there are preschool children that are not potty trained. |
