Per Licensee they plan to administer medication if needed. Children's medication will be kept in an upper kitchen cabinet inaccessible to children in care.
The facility has central air and heating. LPA did not observe any fireplaces or wall heaters in the facility. Children will nap in the living room/day care room and they are provided appropriate napping equipment. Children have access to both restrooms in the facility. Both restrooms have latched cabinets under the sink. Personal items are kept in these cabinets. No medicine or cleaning products are kept in the restrooms. No accessible hazards were observed in the restrooms.
Children have access to the backyard for outdoor play. The backyard is fully enclosed. Per Licensee, children are supervised while playing outside. LPA observed appropriate toys and materials available for children outside. Poisons are kept in the off limits garage. Licensee understands that all poisons must be locked, not only inaccessible to children. Isolation area for sick children waiting to be picked up is in a section of the living room, separated from other children while under adult supervision. Per Licensee, there are no firearms or weapons stored in the home. LPA did not observe any pools or spas, or other bodies of water. There is 1 pet dog in the home which is kept in the off limit area of the home.
Infant Care: Currently there are no infants enrolled. Licensee has 4 play yards available for infants. The following was discussed with the Licensee, napping equipment shall not block entrances or exits, Infants shall not be swaddled in care. Car seats shall not be used for sleeping. LPAs discussed the Safe sleep regulation, including LIC 9227 Infant Sleep Plan for infants under 12 months, 15-minute sleep check documentation for infants 0-24 months.
Overnight Care: There is no overnight care provided at the moment. LPA discussed the following: Licensee is aware that they must remain awake while children are awake. If children sleep in separate area from licensee, the door must remain open. If licensee cannot hear children when they wake up, video or audio device can be used.
Licensee was advised children's records must contain the following items: (LIC) 282- Affidavit Regarding Liability Insurance, Immunization Records, LIC 700- Identification and Emergency Information, LIC 627- Consent for Medical Treatment, LIC 995A Notification of Parents’ Rights, LIC 9227 Individual Infant Sleep Plan (Ages 0 to 12 months), 15 minute sleeping logs (Ages 0 to 24 months).
Licensee has completed the required Health and Safety Training, Nutrition Training, Lead training and Pediatric First Aid and CPR which expires 3/2024. Applicant has also completed the required Mandated Reporter Training which expires 10/19/24. Applicant has proof of the required immunization against measles, pertussis and flu. Applicant has submitted proof of TB clearance. |
