25 | On July 30th 2024 at 10:00am Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Alicia Mooberry and Portia Bowden conducted a pre-licensing inspection for the above address. LPAs met with Brenda Rodriguez, Applicant, who guided LPAs on a tour of the facility. Individuals residing in the home were discussed and noted. Per Applicant, hours of operation will be Monday - Friday, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. Applicant states they will care for children Infants -12 years of age. No overnight care will take place.
This is a two-story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry closet, front and backyard (fenced) and attached garage. This home is located in the front of a two home lot. The home was inspected for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children in care.
Areas used by children include: First floor Bedroom (main daycare area located behind kitchen), living Room, dining room, bathroom on first floor in hallway next to kitchen.
Areas off limits include: First Floor: Kitchen, bathroom inside daycare room, attached garage and back yard. Second Floor: 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, patio attached to upstairs bedrooms.
The off limit areas on the first and second level of the home, are maintained inaccessible by a safety gate in the kitchen, and a safety gate at the base of stairs. Knives and other sharp utensils are located in the kitchen drawers with safety locks. Cleaning products were located in cabinets locked with safety latches under the sink in kitchen and bathroom and in the overhead shelves in the laundry closet. Washing machine and dryer were both observed to be locked. There are outlet covers throughout the home. Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detector were observed, tested and found to be operable.
