Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Angelica Rea conducted a visit in response to the above allegation. On today's visit, LPA met with Assistant Administrator Andrew De Vera, and Medication Supervisor, Julias Elias who assisted with today's visit.

The investigation consisted of the following: Interview(s) with Assistant Administrator, Staff #1, Staff #2, Resident #1- Resident #13, tour of facility, including common areas, and random resident rooms.

Regarding the allegation that staff are not addressing the malodor in the facility, Staff interviewed stated that sometimes they do smell drug(s) in the facility. They stated that sometimes they smell it on residents clothing, or in certain areas of the facility. They stated that some residents may be using drugs while out in the community. Staff interviewed stated that sometimes they can smell it, and they try to locate where the smell is coming from. 9 out of 13 residents interviewed stated that they have smelled drugs in the facility. The stated that they can identify the smell as marijuana. LPA observed that the facility elevator was malodorous during the visit.

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Angelica Rea conducted a visit in response to the above allegation. On today's visit, LPA met with Assistant Administrator Andrew De Vera, and Medication Supervisor, Julias Elias who assisted with today's visit.

The investigation consisted of the following: Interview(s) with Assistant Administrator, Staff #1, Staff #2, Resident #1- Resident #13, tour of facility, including common areas, and random resident rooms.

Regarding the allegation that facility staff do not prevent use of drugs in the facility: Staff interviewed stated that they have not observed residents using drugs in the facility. Staff interviewed stated that some residents may be using drugs while out in the community. Residents interviewed were unable to corroborate the allegation. 13 out of 13 residents interviewed stated that they had not observed residents using drugs in the facility.

Administrator will ensure that the facilty is comfortable for all residents in care. Administrator will submit a plan to CCL regarding the facility's plan to ensure that facility is free from bad odor(s), and will send to LPA by POC due date.
