25 | On 6/20/2025 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Stephanie Vega-Gonzalez conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and was met by licensee Hortencia Rios. All adults who reside or work in the home have a criminal record clearance or exemption. There are no excluded individuals present at this home. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 6:00pm.
LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. Current facility sketch reviewed, and Licensee confirmed that living room, Bedroom #3, Bedroom #3 bathroom, dining room, kitchen, front yard, backyard, and hallway bathroom are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of plastic door spinners. This is a single-story home and there are no stairs in the home.
During the inspection LPA observed the following. In bedroom #3 LPA observed a lotion bottle and baby powder on top of a drawer dresser, in bedroom #3’s bathroom LPA observed various hygiene products ranging from sprays, lotions, and toothpaste that are accessible to children in care. LPA observed various hygiene products inside the shower on the floor. LPA observed various cleaning products on a shelf in the hallway that leads to the hallway bathroom. In the kitchen LPA observed broken latches for the cabinets. LPA opened cabinets and had access to various knives, button batteries, double AA batteries, box cutters, sharp tools, screws, nails, staples, scissors, and six (6) wine bottles. LPA sat in kitchen chair and felt a sharp object. A screw was sticking out of the cushion of the chair. LPA informed licensee about chair. Licensee hammered nail down from the chair so it was no longer sticking out. LPA reviewed with licensee that children should not have access to any of the items listed. Licensee stated that she will ensure to place all items in an inaccessible area to children in care.
