25 | On 7/2/24 at 8:30 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Joseph Pacheco conducted an announced Pre-Licensing inspection for a new license. Upon arrival, LPA met with Director, Emily Savala. Also present was Lead Pastor, Joshua Blair. Licensee will be Central Valley Church of the Assemblies of God. Applicant is requesting to be licensed for 36 preschoolers ages 2-6 in Preschool Classrooms A and B and 36 school age children ages 6-12 in one school age classroom. This facility will operate year round. Hours of operation will be Monday – Friday 7:15 am – 6:00 pm for the preschool. School age hours will be 2:30 pm – 6:00 pm during the school year and 7:15 am – 6:00 pm during the summer months.
All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed Director that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. When medications are on site, Director stated that they will be stored in the Director’s office in a locked cabinet or refrigerator. A fully equipped first aid kit is located in the Director’s office. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector on site located in the Director’s office. All required licensing documents were observed posted in the front entry way. Children will be signed in and out at the front entry way.
LPA continued to tour the facility and measured all indoor and outdoor activity space. Total indoor activity space for the preschool children measured to an approximate 2,717 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate the requested overall capacity of 36 Children. Total indoor activity space for the school age children measured to an approximate 1,409 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate the requested overall capacity of 36 school age children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping mats, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms from a water dispenser via a water delivery service. Director stated that facility will have water dispensers in each classroom along with paper cups in a paper cup dispenser. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance for 36 preschool children ages 2-6 including no more than five children between the ages of 24 – 36 months and 36
