LPA observed the outdoor play areas (Front Yard and Backyard) to be free of debris and other loose articles. The facility has resilient padding in the form of wood chips. LPA observed a wooden play structure to be present in the Front Yard. The play structure is secured by railings and netting. There are age-appropriate toys and equipment available. There is a chicken coop in the Front Yard that contains three chickens. Per D1, the chickens are allowed to roam the yards. Children are allowed to pet chickens and feed them during care. There is shade available through umbrellas, trees, and covered areas of the yards. The outdoor play areas are secured by a fence that is at least four feet high. LPA observed the fence to be in good repair and free of loose nails or other sharp objects. There is no pool or other body of water present in the facility.
LPA reviewed two staff files, two parent files, six children’s files, and facility records. LPA observed all staff employed by the facility to have current First Aid/CPR training and current Mandated Reporter Training. All staff present are fully qualified teachers and have their qualifications and immunizations available for review. Parent files contain immunization records and TB clearances. LPA observed all children’s files to be complete. LPA observed all required postings to be posted and accessible for review upon entry to the main building of the facility. LPA advised that lead testing results should be posted. D1 stated that they understood. The facility last conducted an emergency drill on 2/26/2024. Emergency drills are properly logged and documented. There is a sign-in/out sheet that is available for review. The facility tested its fixtures for lead on 12/16/2022, before the deadline of 1/1/2023, and did not have any exceedances of lead.
