LPA observed the outdoor play area to be free of debris and other loose articles. There is sufficient shade available through trees or tarps that have been set up throughout the outdoor play area. There are age-appropriate toys and equipment present for children in care. The outdoor play area is enclosed by a fence. Water bottles are brought out when children are present and are refilled as needed. LPA observed yellowjacket traps to be present in areas that are inaccessible to children in care. The facility is taking measures to keep the center free of flies, other insects, and rodents.
LPA reviewed six teacher’s files, six children’s files, and facility records. All teachers present today are fully qualified teachers and have proof of qualifications in their files. All staff members have current First Aid/CPR training and Mandated Reporter Training. LPA observed all children’s files to be complete. All required postings are posted and available for review. The last emergency drill was conducted in September 2023. Drills are properly logged and documented. LPA discussed requirement to conduct an emergency drill at least once every six months with D1.
