25 | On 9/12/2023, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Leong and Tso, made an unannounced case management visit to the child daycare facility listed above. The LPAs were granted entry by the head teacher, Claudia Cadena. The purpose of the visit was to follow up on an incident that occurred on 8/18/2023 involving a child climbing over a fence. The LPAs explained the purpose of the visit to Ms. Cadena. All individuals listed on the facility’s roster have been granted permission to work or be present in a childcare facility. The LPAs observed five staff members supervising 23 preschool aged children. The facility is operating within its capacity and in accordance with the required ratio of staff to children.
The LPAs observed that the fence is five feet high, which is in accordance with child care regulations (CCR). The LPAs observed that the outdoor area is safe and secure for the children. The LPAs also observed that the outdoor area is surrounded by a fence, which is in accordance with CCR. According to Ms. Cadena, the wooden house will be removed as a safety precaution because of the incident mentioned above. Ms. Cadena informed the LPAs that as a safety precaution, the center will construct a net that reaches over the fence.
Because the facility was in compliance with CCR, the department will close out the incident.
A copy of today’s report and the “Notice of Site Visit” were given to Claudia Cadena. Today's report was reviewed and discussed with Claudia Cadena. No deficiencies were cited today under the CCR, Title 22, Division 22 |
