LPA observed that all containers used for storage of solid waste, including movable bins, have a tight-fitting cover. The bathrooms were found to be clean and fully operational. The toilets and handwashing facilities were well-kept, safe, and clean.
The facility was observed to have fully stocked first aid kits, functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and fully charged fire extinguishers. The first-aid supplies were maintained in a location accessible to staff but inaccessible to children.
The infant program does not currently provide a food service for the children. The children's families provide children with their lunches. LPA observed that each child had their lunch boxes in their individual designated storage space. A water filling station is in each room.
The facility's children sleep on cots and in cribs. LPA observed that the cots and sheets were stored on the side of the room. The infant mattresses were firm and appropriately covered with a fitted sheet appropriate to their size. The cribs were free of loose articles and materials. According to the director, the sheets are washed nightly by the facility. The children's families provide them with blankets.
The outdoor playground has a fence at least four feet high. The outdoor play equipment is in good condition and has no sharp, loose, or pointed parts. The areas around and under high climbing equipment, swings, slides, and similar equipment were observed to be cushioned with rubberized mats that absorb falls. No bodies of water, such as pools or spas, were present on site.
LPA observed that the facility currently records the child's attendance on an electronic app that accounts for all parent signatures for each child. LPA reviewed five children’s files and confirmed that all five children have complete files that include their emergency contact, medical information. and sleep logs for children under the age of two.
LPA reviewed the files for five staff members and confirmed that three were up to date with their Pediatric First Aid/CPR certifications. LPA found all five staff members had completed the necessary twelve units in Early Childhood Education (ECE), including the ECE infant/toddler units, which meet the qualifications required to be classified as a teacher.
