area under the play structure has rubber chips to cushion any falls. Licensee has a sandbox available for children to play. The home has adequate lighting and ventilation and is free of any defects or conditions that may put children at risk. The home has a fully stocked first aid kit available during today's visit. The home has a smoke detector, a carbon monoxide detector, and a fire extinguisher. All garbage cans and power outlets are appropriately covered. All cleaning and washing products, along with any other harmful materials, are kept out of children's reach. During today's visit, the LPA observed no walkers, bouncers, or similar objects present. According to the licensee, no firearms or weapons are on the premises. The LPA observed that the home has no pools, spas, or other bodies of water. Plastic cubbies are available for children's use and appear to be in good condition.
Licensee provides a meal service for children in care which consists of Breakfast, morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack.
The LPA observed a designated area for children to sleep or rest quietly. The area includes sleeping cots and blankets for each child. According to licensee she provides all bedding and washes weekly or as needed.
The LPA observed that all required documents, such as the facility license, the Notification of Parental Rights were displayed. LPA provided licensee with the Earthquake Preparedness Checklist, to display in the home. The facility’s most recent emergency disaster drill, conducted on February 18,2026, LPA reminded licensee to document time and number of children present as well .
The LPA reviewed the records of both the children and staff members. According to the licensee, she carries childcare insurance with DCI insurance services for a family childcare home. The LPA reviewed 6 children's records and found that five files contained all necessary documents, Immunization Record, Identification/Emergency Information, Consent for Emergency Medical Treatment, and Notification of Parents’ Rights. Following a review of the staff records, the LPA found that the licensee possesses a current certification in Pediatric First Aid/CPR. The licensee’s Pediatric First Aid/CPR certification expires on 11/2026. Licensee’s staff has a complete file with all required documents. LPA reminded licensee Mandated Reporter certifications must be renewed every 2 years.
