According to the Director, the center has built an off-site kitchen to prepare meals for the children, and food will be delivered to the center daily for service. Water is provided through filtered water and refilled as needed.
LPA inspected multiple outdoor areas. The outdoor spaces included a garden, shaded rest areas, sand pits, slides, padded flooring, and age-appropriate play structures free of hazards. Various toys, riding carts, and sports equipment were available. Sheds and bins were used to store toys when not in use.
The facility uses paper sign-in/out sheets for the summer program, and according to the director, the center is going to have a new sign-in/out app created specifically for the center for the upcoming school year.
Required postings, including the facility license, were visible. The emergency drill log showed the last drill conducted on May 1, 2026. According to the Director, drills are conducted monthly during the school year and rotated between lockdown, fire, and earthquake drills. Children bring blankets from home for napping, which are washed weekly at home.
LPA reviewed children and personnel files. Five children’s files were reviewed and contained all required documentation. Four staff members were present during the inspection; however, only one had a complete personnel file available for review. The reviewed staff file included qualifying requirements such as ECE units. Several staff members have valid Pediatric First Aid and CPR. A learning curriculum and daily schedule were posted in the classroom.
The Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
