25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Marie Rodriguez made an unannounced case management inspection. LPA met with staff and explained purpose of inspection. Director Magda Bachakashvili arrived a short time later. Licensee is requesting to add a toddler component to license, increase capacity to 52 children (41 preschool age and 11 toddlers), and add toddler classroom. Present at the facility was the Director, 5 teachers, and 20 preschool children. Facility was inspected today for health and safety hazards and toddler classroom was measured to calculate capacity.
LPA and Director toured toddler classroom for health and safety hazards. Classroom is observed today to be clean and in good repair. All furniture, toys, and equipment are observed to be age appropriate and in good condition. There is storage space for children's personal belongings and mats to be utilized for napping children. Classroom is equipped with a fire extinguisher and smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Garbage cans have tight-fitting lids. There is a changing table with a portable sink next to it.
Total useable indoor area for toddler classroom measures at 295.25 sq ft divided by 35 sq ft equals 8 children. Total useable indoor area for preschool classrooms is 1,506.32 sq ft divided by 35 sq ft equals 43 children. LPA discussed capacity with Director and Director will update application to reflect 8 toddlers and 43 preschool children. Current outdoor area used for children measures at 4,170.99 sq ft divided by 70 equals 27 children. Facility has a waiver in place for scheduled use of outdoor play area. Waiver will be updated to reflect new capacity.
LPA will approve increase of capacity of 51 children (8 toddlers and 43 preschool age). Fire clearance inspection was conducted and granted on June 24, 2022.
No deficiencies cited today under CCR, Title 22, Div. 12, Ch. 1.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director Magda Bachakashvili . A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. |
