32 | LPA reviewed with applicant, Lori Dixon, that any future changes to the infant classroom are required to ensure that furniture does not tip over on to infants, the furniture are to be anchored or situated that tipping does not occur. Classroom changes of furniture shall be situated that 100% visual supervision is always provided to infants in care.
Room measurements were taken and reviewed with applicant, Lori Dixon. The total inside infant area measured to an approximate 1341 square feet which will only accommodate the requested capacity of 36 infants at a time. There is adequate storage space available for infants’ belongings in the classroom. Applicant, Lori Dixon understands that infants’ equipment needs to match the capacity she is licensed for. Toys and equipment appear to be age appropriate. There is a total of three hand washing faucets and three changing pad which will accommodate the requested capacity of 36 infants. Applicant has the three changing pads on the floor. The cabinets under the sink is locked, thereby making the sanitizing solution used for disinfecting changing pad before and after each diaper change. Per applicant, there is a water pitcher, a disposable cup dispenser with disposable cups to provide drinking water to infants. Parents will provide sippy cups and bottles for infants for drinking water to be readily available. The pitcher, sippy cups or bottles will be available for children to have access to drinking water inside and outside.
A fire clearance of 126 for the capacities of 36 infants, 48 preschool and 42 school age children was approved and granted by the Mariposa CFAO Fire Department on 8/1/22. The fire clearance was approved with conditions of having fire alarm system become monitored and until it is monitored, there shall be a fire watch every hour while open as well as the installation of a knox box at front gate/door. Per applicant, a fire watch is in place. Every week, applicant is to email fire marshal that staff has walked through building, every hour to ensure there is no fire. At night, applicant’s tenant, checks the area to ensure there is no fire on facility. These procedures are in place until a monitoring system can be installed.
This facility plans to provide Incidental Medical Services – IMS. For IMS information, see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226.
