25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Robert Maciel made a case management visit to the facility for the purpose of reviewing new construction of the outdoor activity space for the facility and met with facility Director, Catherine Lawrence.
On 11/12/24, Kristin Hills, the Director of Early Learning and Care and Educational Services at the Mendocino County Office of Education, emailed LPA informing him that the playground construction was complete and requested LPA Maciel visit the facility to review the playground so the facility could begin using the playground.
During today's visit, LPA reviewed the activity space and did not observe any immediate or potential health and safety concerns. The playground equipment was installed and bark chips were being used for cushioning. A chain link fence had been set up around the border of the playground to prevent children from leaving the playground. Director stated that the fencing was temporary and would be removed once construction at the rest of the Calpella Elementary School grounds was complete. Director stated she would submit an updated LIC999 Facility Sketch once the temporary fencing is removed.
This report was read and reviewed with Director, Catherine Lawrence. There were no deficiencies cited during today's inspection. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to do so will result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. |
