25 | On 08/28/2024 an unannounced case management inspection for an incident was conducted today by Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Xona Xayavong and Valentin Hernandez. LPAs met with Program Director Michelle Joseph. LPAs toured the facility, and a census was taken. Staff and children files were reviewed. The purpose of today’s visit was to inspect the Sun classroom as an unusual incident/injury report was submitted to the Department regarding child 1 being injured. Facility days and hours of operation are from Monday through Thursday 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM & Friday from 7:30 AM through 2:00 PM. LPAs confirmed with Program Director facility phone number is 209-384-6245.
On today’s inspection, LPAs inspected all four Preschool classrooms (Sun, Moon, Star, and Wind). LPAs observed the classroom had appropriate age group toys, books, and equipment. LPAs observed the furniture, tables, and shelves were arrange in a manner that allowed children in care to walk through effortlessly. Program Director stated after incident the shelves and tables were rearranged to allow the children more room and to limit tripping hazards. Program Director stated after incident she spoke to classroom staff regarding supervision and safety in classroom, procedure for informing family when incident occurs, and providing first aide to children in care. LPAs advised to add foam bumpers or rubber corner guards to provide cushion to table if a child in care were to come in contact with the table. LPAs observed toilet paper in the bathroom in the Sun and Wind rooms were touching the floor and advised Program Director to ensure the toilet paper does are rolled up to limit contamination.
Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited.
An exit interview was conducted with Program Director Michelle Joseph. A copy of this report was provided to the licensee and was reviewed. This report shall be made available to the public upon request. The LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit form is required to be posted for 30 days. |
