25 | On 06/27/2024 Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Yesenia Fierro conducted an unannounced annual required inspection and was met by Licensee, Mercedes Rodriguez also present was staff 1. LPA explained the reason for the visit. LPA confirmed days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 5:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The home has a working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number. All adults who reside or work in the home have a criminal record clearance or exemption. There are no excluded individuals present at this home.
LPAs conducted a census during today’s inspections there were nine (9) children in care, capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. A current facility sketch was reviewed, and Licensee confirmed that the living room, playroom, bathroom and backyard are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of baby gates, door spinners and safety latches.
Licensee stated there are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. Licensee stated she has two (2) dogs, Licensee understands she is liable for any actions taken by the pets. Licensee stated that all poisons are kept inside the garage. LPA did not observe any poisons during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
LPAs toured the home inside and outside. This is a one-story home, LPA observed the home to be maintained, clean and orderly. LPA observed inside toys, dramatic play equipment, materials and surfaces accessible to children to be clean and in operable condition. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. LPAs observed licensee test the smoke detector and carbon monoxide. Licensee understands to test both smoke detector and carbon monoxide periodically for functionality. LPA observed that the outdoor play area in the side yard is fenced and there are no hazards to children present. LPA observed outdoor toys and dramatic play equipment to be in operable condition.
