25 | On 08/20/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Valerie Mireles conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and was met by licensee Socorro Serrano. Licensee is Spanish Speaking. Days and hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 5:00AM-6:00PM.
LPA toured the home inside, outside and a census was taken. There were two children present. This is a single level home and there are no stairs. LPA reviewed current facility sketch and confirmed that day care room, dining room, living room, hallway bathroom and backyard are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of a child safety gate at the kitchen and doorknob spinners for the bedrooms. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. LPA observed age-appropriate learning materials, toys, books, games, child-sized table, and chairs. There is one fireplace in the home located in the living room and is made inaccessible by a screen gate and will not be in use during daycare hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Licensee reported that there are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times and is aware children shall not be left in parked vehicles. The outdoor play area in the backyard is fenced and there are no hazards to children present. The backyard has tricycles, playhouses, balls, chalk board, Little Tikes buggies, carts, child sized table, chairs and other safe toys for the children.
LPA reviewed a sample of children’s files and observed files were complete with emergency information as required. Licensee’s Mandated Reporter Training was completed on 02/07/2024. Licensee’s pediatric CPR/First Aid certification expires on 06/08/2027. A review of records indicates that all employees and/or volunteers have immunization records on file for influenza, pertussis and measles. Continued to LIC809-C
