25 | On 11/25/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Yesenia Fierro conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by Licensee, Martha Flores. LPA explained the reason for the visit. LPA Fierro confirmed the home has a working telephone service. All adults who reside or work in the home have a criminal record clearance or exemption. There are no excluded individuals present at this home. Licensee stated days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 5:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
Licensee stated there are firearms and ammunition on the premises. Licensee also stated that there is pets in the home. Licensee understand the liability of pets around day care children and accepts responsibilities of any action taken by pets. LPA conducted a census, during today’s inspection there were two (2) present in the home, capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. A current facility sketch was reviewed, and Licensee confirmed that the kitchen, the dining room, bathroom, and family room are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of door spinners and baby gates.
During today’s inspection LPA toured the home inside and outside. This is a single story home. The fireplace located in the living room is made inaccessible by a glass door. Licensee stated that fireplace will not be in use during daycare hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. LPA observed licensee test the smoke detector and carbon monoxide. Licensee understands to test both smoke detector and carbon monoxide periodically for functionality. LPA observed Firearms and ammunition are stored in bedroom 3. LPA observed that firearms and ammunition is stored and locked separately.
During today’s inspection LPA observed areas, surfaces, carpets, and floors accessible to the children are in operable and sanitary condition. LPA observed the home to have age-appropriate toys, dramatic play equipment, and learning materials. Licensee stated that all poisons are kept in the garage. LPA did not observe any poisons during the inspection, detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
