This is a single level home and there are no stairs. LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. LPA reviewed current facility sketch, and confirmed that the daycare playroom, living room, kitchen, and hallway restroom are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by using doorknob spinners. Safe toys and age-appropriate play equipment were observed.
Licensee confirmed that there are no firearms on the premises. All poisons are kept in a locked storage area, and no poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other hazardous items were observed to be made inaccessible to children.
There is one fire place located inside the living room, and it is made inaccessible to the children in care. LPA observed a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector. The home has adequate heating and ventilation for the safety and comfort of children in care. Based on record review, LPA observed that the fire and disaster drills have been conducted and documented every six months, including the date, time, and number of children present.
