25 | On 10/20/22 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Araceli Gibson conducted an unannounced One Year Required Inspection and was met by Spanish speaking Licensee, Monica Lopez Perez and hours of operation are Monday through Sunday hours less than 24 hours as needed.
LPA toured the home inside and outside. Licensee had 3 children in care. Licensee confirmed that the living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom 1 and backyard are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of safety gates and safety knobs on the doors. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. All poisons are kept in a locked storage area. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. There is an outdoor trampoline LPA advised she follow manufacturer specifications.
There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. There are no stairs or a fireplace in the home. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (209) 829-8537.
There are 2 infants enrolled during today’s inspection. LPA discussed Safe Sleep Regulations with licensee. There is one crib or play yard for each infant in care. Cribs and play yards are kept free from all loose articles and objects while infants are sleeping, and there are no objects hanging above or attached to the crib or play yard. Infants are not swaddled while in care. Provider physically checks on sleeping infants every fifteen minutes and documents any signs of distress which includes but is not limited to flushed skin color, increase in body temperature, restlessness and labored breathing. Infants can be visually observed through an open door if sleeping in a separate room. Infants up to 12 months of age are placed on their backs for sleeping. Licensee was advised and now understands the use of the Infant Sleep LIC9227 form. An advisory note was given due to a child in care that enrolled prior to turning 12 months of again without the LIC9227 form completed.
