25 | On 02/02/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Yesenia Fierro conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by Licensee, Samantha Sanchez. LPA explained the reason for the visit. Also present was/were Staff #1 (S1) Abby Gonzalez. LPA Fierro confirmed days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. -5:30 p.m. The home has a working telephone service and LPA Fierro confirmed the phone number is (209) 233-4018. All adults who reside or work in the home have a criminal record clearance or exemption. There are no excluded individuals present at this home.
LPA Fierro conducted a census, during today’s visit there were 9 children present, capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. A current facility sketch was reviewed, and Licensee confirmed that the kitchen, dining room, bathroom and living room are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of door spinners. LPA Fierro toured the home inside and outside.
This is a single-story home, there are no stairs in this home. During today’s visit LPAs observed the home to be clean and orderly. LPAs observed all indoor toys, play equipment, materials and surfaces accessible to children are in serviceable condition. The electric fireplace located in the living room is made inaccessible by a glass door. Licensee stated that fireplace will not be in use during daycare hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. LPA observed licensee test the smoke detector and carbon monoxide. Licensee understands to test both smoke detector and carbon monoxide periodically for functionality.
There are no bodies of water, firearms or ammunition on the premises. There are pets in the home. LPA observed one (1) small dog and one (1) small cat in the home. Licensee understand the liability of pets around day care children and accepts responsibilities of any action taken by pets. All toys, play equipment, materials and surfaces accessible to children are clean and in operable condition. Licensee stated that all poisons are kept in locked in the garage. LPA did not observe any poisons during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
