25 | On 11/08/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ka Vang conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and was met by Licensee Savannah Mercado. Licensee confirmed the hours of operation are Monday to Friday, from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The home has a working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (209) 485-1699. Licensee stated that she provides meals to the children in care.
LPA toured the inside of the home. Census was taken and there are two daycare children present. Current facility sketch (LIC 999A) was reviewed, and Licensee confirmed that the daycare children have access to the daycare room located in the main livingroom and hallway bathroom. Licensee has placed a children's safety gate around the main daycare area to prevent daycare children from having access to the main living room, kitchen, and the rest of the house. Off-limits rooms are made inaccessible using plastic doorknob covers and safety gates. There is a fireplace in the front living room and a wood burning stove in the daycare room, and Licensee stated that the fireplace and wood burning stove will not be used during daycare hours. There is a children safety gate installed in the daycare room to prevent children from having access to the wood burning stove. LPA observed that the slide glass door to the backyard is locked and off limits to the day care children.
Licensee stated that there are no firearms in the home. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are inaccessible. This is a single level home with no stairs. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Fire drills are conducted and documented with the date, time and how many children present, every six months.
Safe toys and play equipment were observed and are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. There is no animal in the home. The outdoor play area in the backyard is inaccessible to the children as there is a doorknob installed to prevent children from having access to the backyard. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. (Continued on LIC809-C).
