25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elizabeth Larios met with Maria Pulido, Licensee, for an unannounced Required – 1 year annual inspection. LPA was granted access to the home by the Licensee. LPA also observed nine day care children (4 infants, 4 preschool, & 1 school age) and one adult assistant (Guadalupe Ruelas) in the home during today's inspection. Licensee was operating within her capacity and ratio requirements. LPA observed the required postings, including the facility license, near the front entrance to the home. Days and hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Licensee and spouse are the only adults residing in the home.
LPA reviewed a current Child Care Facility Roster and Fire/Disaster drill log during today's inspection. The last fire/disaster drill was completed on April 23, 2022. Licensee does not have liability insurance for the day care and issues the Affidavit Regarding Liability Insurance (LIC 282) form to all enrolled families. Licensee & Guadalupe have current CPR and First Aid certifications (expiration: November 2023). Licensee and both adult assistant has the required vaccines (MMR, Tdap, & flu) and do not have a current Mandated Reporter Training for Child Care Workers Certificate. LPA reviewed six children's files and the files were complete with the required forms.. LPA reviewed two staff files (Licensee & adult assistant) and the files were complete with the required forms.
LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today's inspection. Licensee has a working telephone in the home. The home is clean, orderly, (including heating/fans/ventilation), and safe for the day care children. There are safe & age appropriate toys, play equipment, and materials for the children in the home. There are stairs that were observed barricade and a hallway wall heater, and living room wall heater that is in off limits area. The off limit areas inside the home are first floor: entry hallway, two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, living room, upstairs master bedroom, and garage.
LPA observed a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, working smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, no bodies of water, and fenced backyard. The Licensee states that she does not have any pets or weapons in the home. All detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other similar items are inaccessible to children and stored in the locked garage. Licensee states that she does not administer any medications to the day care children at this time. |
