13 | On March 25, 2025, Licensing Program Analyst(LPA) Darnella Barnes conducted an unannounced complaint investigation at the facility regarding the facility failed to provide refrigeration storage for food and snacks. The purpose of the visit was explained to Site Supervisor Special Lopez, who granted access to the facility. At the time of the visit, the Site Supervisor, four staff members, and 31 children were present.
LPA toured the exterior and interior of the facility. LPA did not observe any children’s food stored in the refrigerator. LPA observed that children’s food was stored in the children’s individual storage areas located outside of the classroom. An interview with Site Supervisor Special Lopez confirmed that the facility did not allow storage of children’s food in the refrigerator. A review of records, including the Teddy Bear Parent Handbook under School Supplies Provided by Parents, stated that parents must provide a lunch box with ice packs to keep food cool and a thermos to keep food warm, and that the facility did not refrigerate or heat food items.
