25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Fermin Campos-Jaramillo conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection today. LPA met with Maria Tejeda, Licensee, and explained the nature of today's inspection to her. The purpose of the inspection is to re-activate the license.
On March 4, 2025, Salinas Fire Prevention informed to Licensing Program that a fire clearance for this facility had been revoked due to violations on the Code Enforcement Department. The current status of the license as of today is inactive.
Per instructions of the Salinas Fire Prevention the home was suited enough and a new Fire Clearance was requested by Licensing Program for this facility on 3/11/25.
The Salinas Fire Department granted a new clearance with details of terms in a signed form STD 850 dated 3/14/25 and conditioned to “Approved under the condition that CE2311-0044 is cleared in the near future. Based on the Code Enforcement Department time frame”.
Today LPA observed the home has working fire extinguisher size 3A40BC, smoke and Carbon Monoxide detectors, a wall heater that needs to be barricaded, and no bodies of water. LPA observed there is also a fire alarm in the home.
Per Salinas Fire Department only the following areas are approved for childcare use. Inside the home: Living room, dining room, kitchen, and bathroom. Outside the home: Only the area labeled as play area on the sketch submitted with the Fire Inspection request on 3/11/25 is approved for childcare use. The play area is located at the back of the building exiting by the dining room. Licensee understands the blue storage shed located within the play area must be locked while children are in care. LPA observed there is a trampoline located in the play area and licensee understands the trampoline must be only used according the manufacturer instructions.
No deficiencies were cited today.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
Licensee Maria Tejeda was informed, a large Family Child Care Home license will be reactivated pending on Licensing Program receiving proof of barricaded wall heater and Management approval. |
